We stayed at a hot spring ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn, during the New Year, enjoying a variety of delicious dishes made with local ingredients, a private outdoor bath, and a massage service after the bath. While we were out of the room, soft down comforters were laid out, and when we left, the ryokan's car provided a courteous drop-off to the station. It was truly an exceptional experience with every detail taken care of.
