The department manager tried to prompt a capable but proud new employee by saying, “Well? If it’s tough, just say so. I’ll have it finished by five today.” With a wry smile, the manager said, “You’ve got no humility at all, do you?” and then added, patting him on the back, “All right, I’m counting on you.”
