Some of the people who suffered health damage from the "black rain" following the Hiroshima atomic bomb were not recognized as "hibakusha" (those affected by the atomic bombings and radiation) for a long time. However, 75 years after the war, the Hiroshima District Court finally issued a groundbreaking ruling, officially recognizing them as hibakusha.
