1. Ōma Nuclear Power PlantThe Ōma Nuclear Power Plant is a future nuclear plant in Ōma, Aomori currently undergoing preliminary ground work that will be operated by the Electric Power Development Company. The reactor will be unique in that it will be capable of using a 100% MOX fuel core, as requested by the 1995 decision by the Japanese Atomic Energy Commission. In 2006, an anti-nuclear power plant activist and resident of the town of Oma, Asako Kumagai, died mysteriously.
