1. Athletics at the 2012 Summer OlympicsAthletics at the 2012 Summer Olympics is scheduled to be held during the last 10 days of the games, from August 3 to August 12, 2012, at the Olympic Stadium. The Olympic sport of athletics is split into four distinct sets of events: track and field events, road running events, and racewalking events. Road events will begin and end at The Mall. The competition will see around 2000 athletes competing in 47 events with both men and women having very similar schedule of events.
