2. Japan Democratic Party (1954)Japan Democratic Party (日本民主党, Nihon Minshutō) was a short-living right-wing political party in Japan 1954–1955, led by Ichirō Hatoyama. Its leaders included former foreign minister Mamoru Shigemitsu and future Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi. The party was formed on November 24, 1954, by merging Ichiro Hatoyama's group which left Liberal Party in 1953, and Shigemitsu-led Kaishinto party. On November 15, 1955, Japan Democratic Party merged with the Liberal Party to form Liberal Democratic Party.
