2. Ōizumi, GunmaŌizumi, Gunma is a town located in Ōra District, Gunma, Japan. As of September 1, 2007, the town had an estimated population of 41,098 and a density of 2292.14 persons per km². The total area is 17.93 km². In 1957, the towns of Ookawa-mura, and Koizumi-machi merged, thus "Ooizumi-machi" was born. Ooizumi's name comes from the 'Oo' from Ookawa and 'izumi' from Koizumi. The Tokyo plant of Sanyo, which was previously the plant of the Nakajima Aircraft Company, is located in this town.
