TriodionThe Triodion, also called the Lenten Triodion (Τριῴδιον κατανυκτικόν, Triodion katanyktikon), is the liturgical book used by the Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches of Byzantine rite during Great Lent, the three preparatory weeks leading up to it, and during Holy Week. Many canons in the Triodion contain only three odes or canticles, hence the name Triodion, meaning The Book of the Three Odes.
