1. Woo Jang-choonWoo Jang-choon (April 8, 1898 – August 10, 1959, family name sometimes romanized as U) was a Korean-Japanese agricultural scientist and botanist famous for breeding plants. He preferred U and published his paper with this family name. He was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. When Korea earned its independence in 1945, Woo left his family in Japan, and came to Korea to lead the country in botany and agriculture. There is a museum in the port city of Busan in honor of Woo.
