1. Shashi DistrictShashi is a district within the main urban area of Jingzhou, Hubei province, People's Republic of China. It is located on the left (northern) bank of the Yangtze River, between Yichang and Wuhan, and has a population of around 520,000. The district is experiencing ecological problems due to its metal and chemical industry. The Yangtze River is most polluted in the area around Shashi Harbour. Shashi was founded in the late 18th century, but was largely destroyed in World War II.
