1. Hellisheiði Power StationThe Hellisheiði Power Station is the second largest geothermal power station in the world, and the largest in Iceland. The facility is located in Hengill, southwest Iceland, 11 km (7 mi) from the Nesjavellir Geothermal Power Station. As of October 2011, the plant produces 303 MW of electricity and 133 MW of hot water, with a target capacity of 400 MW. Once this capacity is reached, it would rank as the largest geothermal power station in the world, in terms of installed capacity.
