1. Kuk SwampKuk Swamp is an archaeological site in New Guinea. Evidence for early agricultural drainage systems was found here, beginning about 9,000 years ago. In 2008, it was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Evidence has been found of irrigation draining ditches going back to 9,000 years, with a number of plants including taro grown, at what would have been the edge of its cultivable limit in the highlands.
