Treaty of Guadalupe HidalgoThe Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (Tratado de Guadalupe Hidalgo in Spanish), officially Treaty of Peace, Friendship, Limits and Settlement between the United States of America and the Mexican Republic / Tratado de la Paz, Amistad, Limites y Arreglo definitivo entre la Republica mexicana y los Estados Unidos de America, is the peace treaty, largely dictated by the United States to the interim government of a militarily occupied Mexico City, that ended the Mexican–American War (1846 – 48) on February 2, 1848.
