2. Gou AnGou An is a fictional character in Luo Guanzhong's historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. He was a subordinate of the Shu Han general Li Yan and was in charge of escorting supplies. Gou was an alcoholic and he was late by ten days when delivering supplies to Zhuge Liang's army during one of the Northern Expeditions. Zhuge was furious and ordered Gou to be executed, but Yang Yi pleaded for Gou's life. Zhuge decided to spare Gou but ordered him to be flogged 80 times.
