Ahmet Ali Çelikten​Ahmet Ali Çelikten also known as Arap Ahmet Ali or İzmirli Ahmet Ali (born Izmirli Ali oghlu Ahmed, 1883 – 1969) probably was the world's first black military pilot. in aviation history He was definitely one of only two black pilots in World War I, the other being Eugene Jacques Bullard. His grandparents had moved from Somaliland to Basra, in what is now Iraq. Ahmet Ali was born in 1883 in İzmir. His mother, Zenciye Emine Hanım was Romani, and his father Ali Bey a Somali.
