1. CisleithaniaCisleithania was a common denotation of the northern and western part of Austria-Hungary, the Dual Monarchy created in 1867 and dissolved in 1918. Transleithania, i.e. the Hungarian lands with the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia, lay to the east "beyond" the Leitha river. The Cisleithanian capital was Vienna, the residence of the Austrian emperor.
