オラウス・マグヌス
1. Olaus MagnusOlaus Magnus who, as a Swedish patriot, Catholic ecclesiastic, and writer, did pioneering work for the interest of Nordic people. He was reported as born in October 1490 in Linköping, Östergötland, and died on August 1, 1557 probably in Rome. His original Swedish name was Olof Månsson (his last name meaning "son of Måns"; Magnus is a Latinized version of his patronymic second name, and not the literal personal epithet meaning "great").
