Lori BerensonLori Helene Berenson (born November 13, 1969) is an American convicted in Peru of unlawful collaboration with the Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA), a terrorist organization recognized by the Peruvian government, the US Department of State and the European Parliament and which had committed numerous attacks in attempting to overthrow the government of Peru. Her arrest and conviction, and the circumstances of her trials, provoked considerable attention in the United States and in Peru.
