The unit symbol of the kibibit is Kibit or Kib. 1 kibibit = 2 bits = 1024 bits The kibibit has existed since 1998 and is closely related to the kilobit, which is either a synonym for kibibit, or stands for 10 bits = 1000 bits, according to the International System of Units (SI).
