1. USS Vandegrift (FFG-48)USS Vandegrift (FFG-48) is an Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate of the United States Navy. The ship was named for General Alexander A. Vandegrift (1887–1973), 18th Commandant of the Marine Corps. Vandegrift was built at Todd Pacific Shipyards, Seattle, Washington, launched on 15 October 1982, and commissioned on 24 November 1984.
