1. EarthwormAn earthworm is a tube-shaped, segmented animal that is commonly found living in soil. An earthworm has a digestive system that runs straight through its body, conducts respiration through the cuticle covering its skin, and has a simple, closed circulatory system. Earthworms are hermaphrodites--each individual carries both the male and female sex organs. Having no skeleton, an earthworm maintains its structure with fluid-filled chambers.
