2. Workweek and weekend​The workweek and weekend are those complementary parts of the week devoted to labour and rest respectively. The legal working week, or workweek, is the part of the seven-day week devoted to labour. In most Western countries it is Monday to Friday. The weekend comprises the two traditionally non-working days in the seven-day week. What constitutes the working week is mandated either by law or custom. In Christian tradition, Sunday is the "Lord's Day" and the day of rest and worship.
