1. Tokunoshima (island in Kagoshima prefecture); Tokuno Island
2. Tokunoshimais an island in the Amami Islands of southwestern Japan. Administatively it belongs to Kagoshima Prefecture. Three towns are located on the island: Tokunoshima, Isen, and Amagi. It is about halfway between Kagoshima on the southern end of Kyūshū and Okinawa's main island. It is home to a deadly snake known as the habu (which exists on several other islands), a rare and prehistoric black rabbit, and a unique form of bullfighting called Tōgyū.
