2. UrobilinUrobilin is a yellow linear tetrapyrrole, resulting from the breakdown of heme, a cyclic tetrapyrrole. It is primarily responsible for the yellow color of urine. Urobilin is produced when Urobilinogen is oxidized, by intestinal bacteria or by exposure to the environment upon urination.
