I have discovered (via searching the web for 鵬, and 'ship'), that the kanji for YI is, 伊.
伊鵬
From also consulting, https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E4%BC%8A, I can see that it probably means 'this' (YI) 'giant bird' (PENG).
N.B. 鵬 also means Phoneix in the kanji of Japan (per this dictionary).

'Yi Peng' (鵬)
I am wondering what the first kanji is - the first half of the name on the ship pictured on today's Financial Times.
The second kanji is certainly, 鵬.
