It really should be コンバージァンス and not コンバージェンス

If you can back that information up with sources, you can always request an edit at the JMdict dictionary web interface for that entry. A cursory look into my own dictionaries and a web search however suggest that コンバージェンス is the correct spelling.

Are you saying that Japanese people converted it to katakana "incorrectly" when they borrowed it into Japanese? I don't think I even really agree with that, but this is a weird one to make a point about, given how many weird or inconsistent katakana loanwords there are.
