This is a discussion about 吐く

吐く=欧く?

欧 kanji entry has a kun yomi (は.く) that doesn’t refer to any word entry. I believe this entry is the one it is intended to reference, but I don’t have a solid citation, just a google search.

My kanji dictionary lists 欧く with the „vomit“ meaning, specifying „food or blood coming out of the mouth“.

I would interpret that as 欧くbeing more focused on one specific meaning, while 吐く being more broad in its usage. But yes, I would say they‘re the same word.

https://jisho.org/search/欧%20%23kanji list はく as one of its Kun-yomi. There is also https://jisho.org/search/嘔%20%23kanji.

I think both 欧く and 嘔く should be added to alternative kanjis for 吐く
