this sentence is from a children book, talking about the pie man got cut half and he leave his town.
I only understand the first meaning: まとのまるいパイになるためなら　if cannot become original circle pie.
the second sentence 何だってしなくちゃいけないってことが。　must do anything (must do something to become circle pie)

is that correct?
