I would like to know the meaning of くれた since I see it quite often in lyrics and manga. In a YouTube video I watched not long ago it was stated that 教えてくれた, as in "teach me," the くれた made the 教えて more personal, so it is less of "teach me," and therein becomes "teach ME." I know that sounded confusing, but that is the easiest way to put it. Leebo at 2020-12-28 10:37:45 UTC It's the verb くれる, in the past tense. This is the entry for it. https://jisho.org/word/%E5%91%89%E3%82%8C%E3%82%8B Definition 3, the auxiliary verb usage, is the one you're looking at. It means that someone did the first verb for the benefit of the speaker. Checkers at 2020-12-28 22:26:27 UTC 教えてくれてありがとうございます! Log in to reply.
