Well... Apparently, it was supposed to be incomprehensible.
After some more time, the hero finally thinked he was not understanding the amount of time either, that it shoudl be some time measure of the country (it's a fictional world).

In Jisho, it's listed as an undertemined amount of time, but I keep seeing it as it was not...?

In a game I'm playing, a character is coming back at home after a long time, and the conversation keeps on talking about that for awhile now, but the time period of is absence is unclear, if I understand correctly what Jisho says.
But, the characters keeps using this word with numbers, like it was some way of measuring time, like hours or days...?
Could someone explain to me how I'm supposed to understand the time spent in these sentence?
