The んだ at the end explains the first part of the sentence. In writing, のですis more common while んだ is casual. んです、んだ forms are used to explain "why" or for further clarification. The sentence above could be an explanation as to why the brother often receives things from the younger sister. e.g. "Why does your younger sister give you so many things?" "Because my younger sister likes to make various things, I often receive."
The よくin that sentence means "often."
For more information on んです、look at this.
I meamt to type, "Because my younger sister likes to make various things, she often gives them to me. "
explain and clarify
"んた" is more casual and used when texting and chatting with buddies, "のです" is more professional and shows a higher level of respect for whoever you're speaking to, think most anyone older than you or strangers.
pos = possessive; top = topic marker; nom = nominalizer; sub = subject marker; exp = explanatory particle; cop = copula
"僕 の 妹 は いろいろ 作る の が 好き だから、 よく くれる ん だ。"
"My [pos] little sister [top] variously/ make [nom] [sub] like because often let have/give [exp] [cop]"
various (things)
"Because my younger sister likes crafting various things, she often gives them to me"
よく is the second sense of the entry for 良く, which is the adverb of 良い. Since it's an adverb it modifies the verb くれる.
くれる usually refers to oneself, that's why 僕 is inferred as the recipient.
ん is a conctraction of の, の (ん) + a copula (e.g. だ or です) can be used for an explanatory sense (see e.g. のだ entry).
だ is a conctraction of である, and a casual version of です.
The second の nominalizes いろいろ作る so that it can then be taken as a subject by が for 好き.
In English this is represented by the gerund (craftING various things).
だから is a combination of だ + から meaning "because" or "since", i.e. it gives the preceding as reason for the following.
Now after writing all this I realized this thread is 5 years old and I feel a little stupid. Anyway, maybe it helps someone. If it doesn't then so be it.
help translating....
Could someone please help me translate the following sentence? I don't understand the structure of the last phrase--Google translates the last phrase as "so she does it well," but the only meaning of くれる I've learned so far is "to give," and I don't understand んだ at the end.
僕の妹はいろいろ作るのが好きだから、よくくれるんだ。
Many thanks for any help.
