The 音符「令」as present in 命令 is written differently by hand than it is in many common fonts. The version that appears in the writing demonstration is how it is written by hand, which differs from many common fonts.
Darn, kanji can really get annoying not just after memorization hahaha tough life for the japanese and for the people who want to travel and learn in Japan. The 「令」kanji isn't the only one with different inflections, yes? halp me XD
There is also the phenomenon of 旧字体 and 新字体 forms of characters. (Old and modern forms of characters)
寿司's 寿 has a non-simplified form 壽
We can see this 寿 component in other characters as well such as
祷 and 禱
Notice how the ネ also transformed, turning into 示 in the non simplified version as well. (I'm not sure if you can see it or not, a lot of this stuff depends on the font you are using).
The differences can often be very subtle, take for instance: 噂 噂󠄀
噂󠄀 is probably how most people would write it.
The non simplified versions of characters are used in signs / book titles / etc to look more 'traditional', to give a 'chinese feel', or just because they look more elegant often times.
When writing everyday things however you should always write in 新字体 (simplified / standardized / whatever you would like to call it) form.
I see. That's a broadens things. I guess it takes more time to get used to all this. Thank you very much for the quick replies.
:)
I have already seen both versions in handwriting so it doesn't really matter that much. If in doubt, check on kakijun.jp and just write like it is shown there.
鈴 writing
I believe the writing demonstration on the kanji page is wrong..?
