It's a feature! :D
It's so you can search for compounds like 新聞 when you don't know one of the kanji. So you can search like this: http://jisho.org/search/しん聞
Ok yeah well しん聞 I get, but I was asking about something like http://jisho.org/search/%E3%81%97%E8%81%9E
(Also I haven't been able to continue using my old username, is this something you could change?)
It's the same feature, it's just very forgiving. In the case of し聞 it does a search for words starting with し and words ending with 聞.
You should be able to log in with the email you used with your previous account. The first time you log in with it your account will be migrated to the new login system. Did that not work for you?
Why is this entry showing up in a search for お知恵 ?
Just wondering.
