Data on jisho.org comes from the JMdict file, which is maintained by the EDRDG, and not by anyone on here. If you think a translation is lacking, you can edit it yourself by hovering over the "Links" label beneath the vocabulary item, and then choosing "Edit in JMdict". You don't need to register for this, just leave your email in case there are any questions. The data on jisho.org is regularly updated, so changes in the JMdict file will become visible on here soon afterwards.

康寧 KOUNEI translated as "Security and well being" by Hirakawa Tadaichi
Hirakawa Tadaichi, also known as Joe Hirakawa translated this word as "security and well being" in his official translation of the Emperor's broadcast (玉音放送)announcing the Japanese acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration, thus ending the Second World War.

Translation:
