Yes, unfortunately this is due to the sentences and words coming from two separate projects, Tatoeba and JMdict. Originally they were in sync but have gotten out of sync over time.

Does it require such a big undertaking? I'm not familiar with Tatoeba (and its sentence-dictionary linking aspect). But I've briefly looked into this; to solve the mismatch between sentences and senses, it seems like you would go to the Tatoeba "annotations" page and fix the indices. Though I think you need to be an "Advanced Contributor" on Tatoeba to be able to access the "annotations" page (not sure what they mean by "B-Line" though).
Yeah, I would either have to be an advanced contributor or rely on them to fix errors. I've sent in a few notices in the past that have been ignored.
I'm also not sure Tatoeba is the best sentence data for Jisho. I would prefer hand made sentences tailored for Jisho.
B-line are a artifact of how these sentences used to be stored before Tatoeba, and maps the words in the Japanese sentences to deinflected versions linked to JMdict definitions.
The example sentences map to the wrong senses
会社は退職者を募った。 should map to sense 2: "To invite contributions, etc.; to solicit help, participation, etc.; to recruit (e.g. soldiers)."
世界の航空産業は墜落事故についての懸念を募らせている。should map to sense 1: "To grow violent; to become stronger; to become worse."
