1. András SzőllősyAndrás Szőllősy (February 27, 1921 – December 6, 2007) was the creator of the Szőllősy index (Sz. ), a frequently used index for the works of Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, was born at Szászváros (Orăştie) in Transylvania on February 27, 1921. He studied composition under Zoltán Kodály at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music where he was a professor of music history and theory from 1950 to his death. Szőllősy has a PhD from the University of Budapest.
