what is the word for "box"?

Many of the exercises in Tobira begin with instructions to use the phrases in the box below. The Japanese instructions use a box that is drawn. What is the Japanese word for such a box?

A Japanese person reading such a sentence aloud would likely say 空欄.

Oh, wait, I misread what you were saying. They would say 空欄 if they saw an empty box for answering in, but a box that has a list in it... I'll ask someone.

A native I asked said they might say various things depending on exactly how it's presented, but anything from a literal description of it, such as 四角 or 枠, to a more abstracted version, such as 表 or 選択肢, would be possible.

Lol, quadruple post... but just to clarify, that 表 is ひょう.
