Mada te imasen or mada + negative verb

Hi guys. In my genki book I learned using mada + te form imasen to say "haven't done ... yet". Example: mada tabete imasen - I haven't eaten yet.
Is it also possible, and if so what is the difference, in just saying mada tabemasen? Or mada tabemasendeshita? I can't seem to find this and i'm so confused.

Thanks in advance.
Jordi

"mada tabemasen" would be something like "Are you still not eating?"
for this question imagine someone having food but not eating it for some kind of reason, like they are upset or the food is too hot etc

can't think of a situation where you would want to use the past tense of that atm

Thank you for your answer.

I have already eaten can be translated as "mou tabemashita" right?
