1. Gamely StakesThe Gamely Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually at Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood, California. A Grade I event, it is open to fillies and mares, aged three-years old and upward, and since 1973 has been run at a distance of one and one-eighth miles on the turf. In its 43rd year in 2009, the race was inaugurated in 1939 as the Long Beach Handicap but then was not run again until 1968. The race was renamed for the 1976 running to honor the U.S.
