1. Kōshū, YamanashiKōshū, Yamanashi is a city located in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on November 1, 2005, when the city of Enzan was merged with the town of Katsunuma, and the village of Yamato, both from Higashiyamanashi District, to form the new city of Kōshū. As of March 1, 2012, the city has an estimated population of 34,912, 13,152 households with a population density of 132.24 persons per km². The total area is 264.01 km².
