1. John HunyadiJohn Hunyadi (c. 1407 – 11 August 1456), nicknamed The White Knight was a general (1444–1446) and Regent-Governor (1446–1453) of the Kingdom of Hungary. Hunyadi is widely celebrated as a successful and powerful generalissimo. He promoted a revision of dated military doctrine and was an outstanding and iconic military opponent of the Ottoman Empire. Hunyadi was, in a sweeping scope of European military history, the pre-eminent strategist and tactician of the 15th century in Christendom.
