1. Iga, MieIga, Mie is a city located in Mie Prefecture, Japan. It became a city on November 1, 2004 as a result of the merger of the old city of Ueno; the towns of Iga (old) and Ayama, the villages of Shimagahara and Ōyamada, all were in Ayama District; and the town of Aoyama, from Naga District. The former towns, villages, and districts were abolished at the time of the merger. Iga has a population of 98,083 (as of March 1, 2010) and an area of 558.17 km².
