1. Kiohis one of the seven titles in Japanese professional shogi ("Japanese Chess"). The word means the king of shogi. (ki = shogi, ō = king) The tournament started in 1974 and was promoted to a title tournament in 1975. Championship match is held in February and March. The challenger for the title is determined by 1st and 2nd preliminary rounds. In 2nd round, losers of semi-finals and final can play consolation games, then the winners of final and consolation-final advance to playoff.
