2. Isawa, IwateIsawa, Iwate was a town in Isawa District, Iwate, Japan. On February 20, 2006 Isawa was merged with the cities of Esashi and Mizusawa, the town of Maesawa, and the village of Koromogawa, all from Isawa District, to form the new city of Ōshū. As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 17,415 and a density of 58.44 persons per km². The total area is 298.02 km². Isawa is well known for its capsicum (green pepper).
