ひだいせいちょう
肥大成長
2. Secondary growthSecondary growth in plants is an increase in diameter of roots, stems, and branches. Primary growth is growth in length and occurs in all vascular plants. Secondary growth occurs in most dicots and gymnosperms, while Monocots usually lack secondary growth. If they do have secondary growth, it differs from the typical pattern of dicots. In many vascular plants, secondary growth is the result of the activity of the two lateral meristems, the cork cambium and vascular cambium.
