2. Ōda, ShimaneŌda, Shimane is a city located in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. As of January 1, 2012, the city has an estimated population of 38,837, with 16,264 households and a population density of 89.05 persons per km². The total area is 436.11 km². The city was founded on January 1, 1954. On October 1, 2005 the towns of Nima and Yunotsu, both from Nima District, were merged into Ōda, and Nima District was dissolved as a result of this merger.
