Thank you! This is the most comprehensive feedback on the year conversion I have ever received. I'm glad that someone's using it :)
I agree with all your feedback. The messaging ambiguity around first years, and non-existent years can definitely be improved, and I'll make sure to fix those buggy cases.
I'll make this part of the next version of the site that I'm currently working on.

Suggestion: Improvement to year / era calculator
Currently, when you search for "1926年" you get the answer that "1926年 is 昭和1年 (元年)" which yes, is correct (does anybody ever write 1年?). But the year 1926 is also 大正15年, actually most of 1926 except for the last few days are 大正15年, only these last few days were 昭和元年. So I think the output should reflect that.
Lastly, I'm not so sure if it's really helpful that a search for "平成１００年" gets you the answer that this is year 2088. At least not most of the time. I think it should still give the answer, because if you're reading a text written in a certain era that uses a future year number, some of these "non-existent" dates might've been actually used, as their non-existence wasn't known yet, but it would be good to have a small disclaimer to the side that tells you that actually the last year of X era was Y.
And at some point this becomes buggy (?), compare output of https://jisho.org/search/%E5%B9%B3%E6%88%909999%E5%B9%B4 and https://jisho.org/search/%E5%B9%B3%E6%88%9010000%E5%B9%B4
Last one, if you search for something like https://jisho.org/search/%E4%BB%A4%E5%92%8C10%E5%B9%B4%E3%80%81%E3%81%BE%E3%81%9F%E3%81%AF%E4%BB%A4%E5%92%8C11%E5%B9%B4 the output is a bit confusing. Maybe it should quote only the part of the sentence that it is actually parsing for calculating the year in the little box up there, not the whole input.
