Is the terminal は in 所では pronounced 'ha' or as 'wa'?
It is not clear when I see terminal は whether it is pronounced 'ha' or 'wa'. Some terms have terminal は that are pronounced as 'wa', such as 今日は (こんにちは). I learned from somewhere else that this is because they used to be part of larger expressions, where the term ending in は was a topic expression. Is 所では one of those expressions?
