"Crazy" in japanese?

What's one good word to fall back on for "crazy" as a rule of thumb? I'd suppose 狂っている
But you can't use it for "crazy idea/plan/dream" or "a crazy thing happened", eh?

I can't think of a 1 to 1 match for crazy in that case, but some expressions u can use is '想像できないことが起きた’

except for "dream" and "crazy things happen", they use 無茶苦茶 for person or idea, thought and plan.

Some anime characters say "Shouki (正気) ka yo??" Though 正気 in this website isn't tagged as common.
