Wiktionary is a free source for pitch accent and pronunciation, like in https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E6%9D%B1%E4%BA%AC#Japanese so Jisho could scrape these categories:
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:Japanese_terms_with_audio_links
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:Japanese_terms_with_IPA_pronunciation
This is something I'd love to add in the future. Like @islandisto mentioned, there are some resources out there for this data, so it's not impossible to add.
Hey guys,
I saw this thread and had a couple hours to kiill, so I hacked together a simple chrome extension that adds pitch accent info to jisho (queried from http://www.gavo.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ojad/).
Here it is: https://github.com/itayperl/jisho-ojad
Enjoy :)
@itayperl That's fantastic! :D
Mentioned it on the Jisho twitter account - https://twitter.com/jisho/status/899683847280971776
thanks
it is useful for Japanese beginner!
@itayperl
Wow that's awesome! thanks!
Pitch accent
Hi, long time user of jisho.org and I love the work that you are doing. However, I've recently started focusing more on learning correct pitch accent and unfortunately jisho.org does not provide this information. I find myself using jisho.org less because of this which is a shame since it really is a great resource in general.
Any plans on implementing such a feature?
